Toulon and Marseille

This morning we drove from Antibes to Marseille via Toulon,
all up about 200k's.

In Toulon we travelled on the téléphérique (cable car) up Mont Faron,
the mighty limestone crag that dominates the city.
Mont Faron is 584m high.

If you look carefully you will see the red cabin
just above the centre of the picture.

The seven-minute ride in the little red cable car takes you soaring over swanky villas with swimming pools, which gradually give way to shady woodland as you approach the top of the mountain. All along the way there are stupendous views across the bay, the port, Porquerolles and other nearby islands, the mountains and city.

Next stop Marseille. We're happy with our accomodation, the apartment is small but well equipped and has a lovely balcony with a table and chairs. The location is great, we went for a walk this afternoon to get our bearings & when we turned left at the first road crossing & could see...

Vieux Port

This area is less than 5 minutes walk from home too.

Our BIG news is that Peta will be flying in to meet us on April 22nd
and will travel with us for about 10 days.

We will also be having a special guest for dinner tomorrow night...
can you Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

Today we walked 10.09 k's.
