This
morning we set off for a day trip to Nice, a 22k drive.
Our first
stop was the March aux Fleurs...the Flower Market.
Flowers, fruit and
vegetables were the main items on offer...
From
there we walked along the waterfront Promenade des Anglais,
lots of
people were sunbathing on the pebbles!
Around
the Point de Rauba-Capaeu is
the sheltered Nice harbour and marina...
We
enjoyed a baguette in the sunshine for lunch
and then set off for Eze. As we left Nice we noticed
a woman and young girl on a motorbike.
When we pulled up beside them we noticed a dog
and then set off for Eze. As we left Nice we noticed
a woman and young girl on a motorbike.
When we pulled up beside them we noticed a dog
sandwiched between them.lf you look carefully you'll see
the dogs head on the right shoulder of the young girl and the tail sticking out under her left arm!

We
drove along one of the three corniches, spectacular coastal roads
with some vertiginous bends...a jaw dropping experience!
We
spent a couple of hours wandering around Eze,
a rocky little medieval village
perched on an impossible peak with small
higgledy-piggledy stone houses and winding lanes.
It is delightful
and the views of the coast are mesmerising.
We
sat and shared an ice-cream sundae gazing over the spectacular
panorama before heading home for a quiet night. We had just left Eze
when Peta rang and told us she was safe...we hadn't heard about the
attack in Stockholm...she was at work and everyone stayed together
and had dinner until the trains started running again...as I write
this she is on her way home and ringing us along the way to let us
know she is OK...we'll be pleased when she is home safe and sound in
an hour or two. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those
killed and injured today.
Our
pedometer reading for today was 10.7 k's.
